Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • 10+ years developing safety-critical automotive or aerospace systems in a production environment
  • Expert-level command of ISO 26262, plus practical SOTIF or ISO 21448 deployment
  • Demonstrated ownership of software/system safety architectures that entered mass production
  • Skilled with SysML, FMEA/FMEDA, FTA, HAZOP and requirements-management tooling (e.g., Jama, Polarion)
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills across cross-functional, multi-cultural teams
Responsibilities
  • Lead Hazard & Risk Analyses (HARA) and STPA/SOTIF studies, define safety goals, ASIL decomposition, and technical safety concepts
  • Specify and review safety requirements across system, software components, design docs, and test plans, ensuring bidirectional traceability
  • Own the Safety Case, curate evidence, perform gap analyses, and present to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Mentor developers on safety culture. Facilitate confirmation reviews and tool-qualification strategies
  • Collaborate with Quality & Cybersecurity Subject Matter Experts to ensure consistent, cohesive, audit-ready releases
Desired Qualifications
  • TÜV/SGS Functional Safety Professional certification
  • Experience with ADAS perception and machine-learning safety concepts (e.g., safety envelope monitors, data-set QA)
  • Exposure to ASPICE SYS.2/SYS.5 assessments or Model-Based Design safety flows
  • Japanese language proficiency or experience working with Japanese OEM/Tier-1 partners
