Red Ventures is looking for a Lab Technician to join our CNET team. CNET is the world’s largest technology media website with a mission to empower consumers to make confident and life-improving decisions, owned by Red Ventures since 2020.

As a lab technician, you will be responsible for lab-based product testing from development to implementation to summarization. You’ll work closely with editors to understand the goals of each testing category and to deliver results in whatever manner is most appropriate. 

Other responsibilities will include developing procedures for testing new product categories. You will also play a key role in software development to support our in-house processes. Our primary software dev environment is labview (G).

We are looking for a hard-working, meticulous and creative problem-solving individual who can manage deadlines, prioritize short- and long-term projects, while meeting day-to-day organizational and maintenance needs. Laboratory experience is not required, but ideal candidates should have familiarity with related principles such as math, science (electric, temperature, fluid), processes, data engineering and software.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and carry out testing procedures based on provided outlines
• Organize and communicate data results to editors
• Research scientific principles to support evolving testing procedures 
• Organize and maintain laboratory equipment and software
• Develop and support procedures and software for testing use

What We’re Looking For:

• Microsoft Office and Google Suite Proficiency
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Familiarity with supporting software (labview preferred, other languages a plus)
• Basic media manipulation skills (basic editing, resizing, cropping, down/uploading)
• Familiarity with residential utilities (water, electric, gas, basic construction)
• Familiarity with data manipulation (writing experience is a plus)
• Familiarity with technology driven devices
• Familiarity with network structures as they relate to software dev and API use
• Remote employment is NOT available for this position.

Compensation

• Cash Compensation Range: $75,000-115,000* *Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
