Requirements
  • A college degree or equivalent college graduation is required.
  • At least one year of professional experience in a hostess or equivalent front-of-house hospitality position is required.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and point-of-sale software applications is required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage service standards and protocols is required.
  • Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal, is required.
  • The ability to maintain professional standards of personal grooming and appearance is required.
  • An understanding of health, safety, and hygiene regulations within hospitality environments is required.
  • The ability to work flexibly across varying shift patterns, including evenings and weekends, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Work hands-on toward the timely setup of the assigned food and beverage outlet according to meal settings and opening hours.
  • Contribute to meeting or maximizing the monthly revenue budget for the outlet and control operational expenses.
  • Attend regular training sessions covering guest care, product knowledge, grooming standards, and upselling.
  • Perform assigned shift duties, including basic cleaning, polishing equipment, table setting, and collecting materials or goods from other departments.
  • Present menus, provide recommendations, receive and place guest orders, and handle payments.
  • Maintain proper uniform condition, appearance, grooming, personal hygiene, and clean and organized side stations while on duty.
  • Greet guests upon arrival and seat them through the hostess.
  • Ensure the outlet entrance is attended at all times.
  • Maintain a professional, friendly, and discreet relationship with outlet patrons.
  • Become familiar with all menus, promotions, product knowledge, and other relevant outlet information.
  • Report cleanliness, maintenance, and equipment issues to the immediate supervisor or Maintenance Department.
  • Handle guest complaints according to instructions or consult the immediate supervisor.
  • Complete mise-en-place work according to whole-day service requirements.
  • Participate in training and development schemes recommended by senior management.
  • Attend departmental briefings and contribute to open communication within the assigned team.
  • Treat guests and colleagues politely and courteously.
  • Anticipate customer needs and assist flexibly across different hotel areas when required.
  • Follow company internal policies, safety procedures, fire, hygiene, health, and safety policies, and relevant operational standards documentation.
  • Maintain adherence to environmental protocols by supporting resource efficiency, responsible energy and water consumption, waste reduction, sustainable purchasing, and required compliance.
  • Work with the hostess to ensure the name tag is complete and correctly positioned.
  • Hand business cards and database information to the hostess for recordkeeping.
  • Hand bills to the cashier and ensure items are charged correctly in the Micros system according to guest consumption.
  • Carry out other reasonable duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
