Requirements
  • 5 years with a bachelor's in science; 3 Years with a Master; 1 Years with a PhD
  • Background in cost estimating and manufacturing/industrial engineering.
  • Experience working with engineering, operations, pricing, contracts, and supply chain peers or similar
  • Experience designing, updating, and implementing new cost reports and/or models
  • Extensive MS Office Suite experience (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Candidate should be familiar with the manufacturing of turbines, gears, and other components utilized by the United States Navy in their submarines and surface ships.
Responsibilities
  • estimate factory labor on requests for proposals submitted by our customers and support in-house estimate requests
  • analyze specifications, statements of work, bills of material, sample layouts, engineering drawings, labor reports, etc., and calculate labor hours based on program history, analogous data, or similar projects for the proposal
  • develop and present clear and concise Basis of Estimate (BOE) documents for proposal submission
  • collect, maintain, and prepare cost data from internal and external organizations
  • create cost models for cost estimating elements
  • prepare cost analysis, and present findings to management, contract personnel, proposal coordinators, customer representatives, and government price auditors
  • coordinate multiple proposal requests and provide support in fact-finding meetings
  • participate in cost and pricing reviews with management and customer representatives and support the contract negotiating team
  • support process improvements and perform other cost-saving initiatives as assigned
