Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to control emotions and maintain composure under stress while using tact and good judgment.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong computer and telephone skills.
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems.
  • Clear, articulate speaking voice.
  • Ability to lift, walk, stoop, and sit at a computer for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity to use a keyboard and handle equipment and appliances.
  • Ability to work in a medical office environment with direct patient contact.
Responsibilities
  • Answer incoming calls for multiple radiology modalities.
  • Verify patient information, insurance eligibility, and pre-certification information.
  • Schedule CT, MRI, ultrasound, mammography, bone density, and fluoroscopy procedures using a Radiology Information System.
  • Communicate pending pre-certification issues with technologists and radiology management.
  • Explain patient preparation requirements and dispense preparation kits as needed.
  • Task providers' offices when necessary.
  • Complete reminder calls for future appointments.
  • Ensure all outside images are obtained.
  • Build workers' compensation cases in IDX when applicable.
  • Manage image releases, including using PACS to burn CDs and DVDs for patient transport, and work with Release of Information to verify accurate documentation.
  • Schedule interpreter services.
  • Check in outpatients for radiology procedures.
  • Comply with Springfield Clinic incident reporting policies and procedures.
  • Complete required OSHA and Springfield Clinic training in accordance with policy.
  • Provide customer service while adhering to Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards.
  • Perform other assigned job duties.
