Position Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Developer to lead and evolve a Kubernetes-native orchestration platform. This application manages and deploys containerized workloads within the cluster it runs in, and integrates a modern web-based UI, cloud-native components, and microservices. You will serve as a technical lead for the platform, ensuring high-quality implementation, operational stability, and extensibility.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned engineer with extensive backend and infrastructure experience, deep knowledge of Kubernetes, and proficiency in Go, TypeScript, and Python. You will work collaboratively across teams to ensure best practices, maintain clear documentation, and uphold development standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and drive the evolution of a Kubernetes-native workload orchestration platform
• Design and develop backend services in Go, and contribute to front-end features using TypeScript
• Develop and maintain containerized microservices and APIs within a Kubernetes environment
• Support deployment strategies via Helm and GitOps workflows (e.g., ArgoCD)
• Integrate event-driven architectures leveraging tools like Kafka
• Implement observability and monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana)
• Collaborate across infrastructure, DevOps, and development teams to maintain CI/CD and system reliability
• Maintain and enhance system documentation, operational runbooks, and internal engineering standards

Desired Skills

• Familiarity with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Bamboo, Fisheye)
• Experience with Agile development and CI/CD pipelines
• Background in Linux/UNIX system administration
• Knowledge of SIGINT dataflows and systems
• Hands-on experience with:
  • NiFi, Kafka, MinIO, and MetalLB
  • Infrastructure-as-Code using cloud-init or Terraform
  • Cloud platforms, especially AWS (EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS)
  • Rancher suite (Harvester, Longhorn, KubeVirt)
• Strong understanding of observability practices and tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana)
• Commitment to maintaining clear documentation and development standards

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must hold an active clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
• 20 years of professional experience
