Freese and Nicholsisseekingan experienced, licensed engineer to join our Central Texas Treatment, Transmission & Utilities team as aWater and Wastewater Transmission/Utilities Engineer and/or Project Managerbased in ourSan Marcos, TXoffice. In this role, you willbe responsible forleading project design efforts; managing scope, schedule, and budget; preparing client communications; and supporting business development initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare design calculations, design drawings, and specifications necessary for most economical method of construction
Seal drawings and reports asrequired
Perform independent studies and prepare reports of results and conclusions in a clear, concise manner. Direct other engineers and technicians on assigned tasks and review and evaluate their results. Present and deliver final reports to clients.
Maintain andutilizeworking knowledge of accepted engineering design standards and practices in the execution of design work that will meet the client’s needs and conform to firm standards.
Coordinate the work of draftingpersonnel;technicians;or other engineers on technical matters pertinent to project assignments.
Work toward keeping current tasks within schedule and budget to fit the needs of the project.
Provide input and coordination with other departments.
Provide data, asrequired, for cost estimating, and secure preliminary equipment costs for reviews.
Investigate new methods and implementnew ideasand/or procedures that willbenefitthe firm and its clients.
Keep project teams informed on project status, and communicate effectively on progress, next steps, and coordination requirements.
Serve as Project Manager for projects that primarily require work within own group but may also require coordination with other groups and the client
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering
Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license
4+ years of related water and wastewater treatment experience
Mix of technical experience including but not limited to water and wastewater design of pipelines, storage, lift stations, pump stations, coordination of civil/structural/mechanical/electrical design, and construction contract administration and management
Demonstrated ability to work in a team as well as independently
Proven ability to manage a multi-discipline design team and assign tasks to and review work of EITs
Proven ability to build andmaintaintrusted advisor relationships with clients, both internal and external, as well as representatives of local,stateand federal regulatory agencies
Masters in Civil Engineering, or related field
