Requirements
  • 5–10 years in infrastructure, platform, site reliability engineering, or DevOps engineering, with meaningful production ownership.
  • Production Kubernetes experience, preferably Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service, including cluster upgrades, autoscaling, networking, and hands-on troubleshooting.
  • Strong Amazon Web Services fundamentals, including Identity and Access Management, virtual private cloud and networking, compute, storage, Key Management Service, and a working grasp of the cost model.
  • Infrastructure as code in a real codebase; Pulumi is preferred, while Terraform or Cloud Development Kit are acceptable with willingness to work in Pulumi.
  • Production TypeScript or Node.js experience, including shipping real application code in a shared monorepo and working primarily in TypeScript.
  • Relational data modeling and Structured Query Language, preferably PostgreSQL, including writing and reviewing migrations.
  • Experience building and owning continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, including deployment strategy and rollback.
  • Practical observability experience with metrics, logs, distributed tracing, and trusted alerting.
  • Experience operating in a Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, System and Organization Controls 2, or otherwise regulated and audited environment.
  • A demonstrated writing habit involving design documents, requests for comments, or postmortems.
  • Fluency with artificial intelligence coding tools in day-to-day work.
  • Ability to evaluate identity, orchestration, model gateway, data warehouse, and vendor application programming interface systems, including permission models, plan tiers, and enforceable controls.
  • Knowledge of least-privilege Identity and Access Management, workload identity, business associate agreements before protected health information access, data classification, protected-health-information-aware logs and metric labels, and audit trails.
  • Ability to instrument and reconcile per-key large language model and infrastructure spending, including estimated-versus-billed costs and alerting.
  • Ability to verify premises, assess blast radius, sequence reversible-first rollouts, write one-page decision documents with ranked options and open questions, and defend decisions to non-engineers.
Responsibilities
  • Own the chain from an ambiguous business or platform problem to a running, instrumented control by establishing the current state, designing the fix, building it, and proving that it works.
  • Build production TypeScript in shared monorepo packages, Temporal workers and scheduled workflows, data models, SQL migrations, internal services, and tooling.
  • Run the cloud platform, including Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service, Amazon Web Services defined in Pulumi, continuous integration and continuous delivery, secrets, workload identity, metrics, logging, and alerting.
  • Evaluate and integrate identity, orchestration, model gateway, data warehouse, and vendor application programming interface systems.
  • Make security and compliance enforceable through least-privilege Identity and Access Management, workload identity, business associate agreements, data classification, protected-health-information-aware telemetry, and audit trails.
  • Own cost as an engineering surface through large language model and infrastructure spend tracking, estimated-versus-billed reconciliation, and proactive alerting.
Desired Qualifications
  • Durable workflow engine experience, especially Temporal, or comparable orchestration and job systems.
  • Hands-on administration of an identity provider or software-as-a-service administration surface such as Okta or Entra, including System for Cross-domain Identity Management, role-based access control, and application programming interface integration.
  • Multi-tenant software-as-a-service experience or merger-and-acquisition integration work folding acquired companies onto a single platform.
  • Data warehouse pipelines involving Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake, and event-ingestion plumbing.
  • Large language model infrastructure involving gateways, virtual keys, provider rate limits, token telemetry, and spend telemetry.
  • Secrets management at scale, policy as code, and software supply-chain hygiene such as image signing and software bills of materials.

Lightspeed leads $60m round in US AI-powered brokerage platform

Lightspeed leads $60m round in US ai-powered brokerage platform. Gyde, an AI-driven brokerage platform based in Austin, Texas, announced its launch alongside a US$60 million funding round led by Lightspeed on January 28, 2026. The funding also involved participation from Optum Ventures, Crystal Venture Partners, Virtue, MVP Ventures, and endowment funds. The company plans to support brokers in providing advice across insurance, health, and wealth sectors by integrating AI technology with operational tools. Gyde is partnering with health insurance agencies initially to support markets such as Medicare Advantage and employee benefits, aiming to retain existing teams and invest in their growth. The platform features GydeOS, a broker-facing system, and Gia, an AI assistant designed to automate routine tasks and enhance client interactions. Gyde's approach intends to improve broker efficiency and client service, with plans to reveal its initial partner cohort in the coming months. Food for thought. What Gyde disclosed and did not disclose about its $60M raise and acquisition plans. * A total of $60 million in capital raised is described, but the structure is not specified, including equity versus debt 1. * An initial acquisition-led approach is described for partnerships with health insurance agencies serving Medicare Advantage (a private-plan alternative to traditional Medicare), Employee Benefits (insurance offered by employers), and the Individual markets. An initial partner cohort is expected to be unveiled over the next several months 1. * Gyde's operating scale is not stated, including agencies acquired to date, headcount, licenses, or carrier contracts. Separate confirmation would be needed 1. Medicare Advantage compliance tooling needs clearer claims and sourcing. * AI-first brokerage platforms like Gyde may open room for compliance software in regulated Medicare Advantage workflows, including tools that help broker teams log required disclosures or store records. That angle is not covered in Gyde's statement 1. * The claim that CMS-compliant marketing and call-recording tools are essential for selling Medicare plans is not backed by the cited sources provided here. It should be sourced before being treated as a requirement. CMS refers to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the federal agency that oversees Medicare. * The idea that vendors can build plug-ins for "leading Medicare enrollment platforms, such as Connecture and Sunfire" is not supported by Source 2 as cited because Source 2 is unrelated. Source 3 discusses Connecture and Sunfire in the context of Connect4Insurance, yet it does not support a broad "leading platform" label or any CMS-compliance requirement 3.
