Requirements
  • At least 10 years of experience building end-to-end data solutions in investment, asset management, or OCIO environments while supporting multiple business units.
  • Deep domain knowledge of master data, holdings, positions, transactions, pricing, benchmarks, returns, exposures, allocations, and corporate actions.
  • Strong hands-on data engineering skills, including required SQL and Python or another scripting language.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience implementing data governance, lineage, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
  • Prior people-lead or team-lead experience.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and operationalization of end-to-end investment data solutions from ingestion through transformation, storage, and serving for OCIO and Advisory business needs.
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers, OCIO operations, risk, performance, reporting, and client teams to translate requirements into pragmatic, scalable data solutions and application programming interfaces.
  • Own data quality, lineage, metadata, and governance for investment datasets, including reference data, positions, holdings, pricing, benchmarks, returns, exposures, allocations, and transactions.
  • Mentor and grow a mixed-seniority analyst team and serve as the primary data contact for senior Mercer Wealth stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in large institutional wealth or bank environments, including proprietary funds or fund-of-funds.
  • Familiarity with Eagle PACE, Markit EDM, or equivalent platforms.
  • Knowledge of investment data vendors and standards, including Bloomberg, Refinitiv, SimCorp, IHS Markit, FpML, and ISO 20022.
  • Hands-on experience with modern orchestration and transformation tools such as Airflow, dbt, and Spark.
  • Experience with data catalog and observability tools.
  • Experience with cloud-native architecture and infrastructure as code.
  • Relevant certifications such as CDMP, cloud certifications, CFA, CAIA, or Scrum.
