Smartcat provides a centralized platform for managing translation and localization projects by connecting businesses with a global network of freelancers. The platform works by automating the translation workflow, allowing users to upload content, assign tasks, and handle all communication and payments within a single interface. Unlike traditional agencies or software, Smartcat integrates a marketplace directly into its management tools to eliminate the need for external emails and separate payment processors. The company’s goal is to reduce the cost and complexity of localization through automation, making it easier for organizations to scale their content into multiple languages.

Smartcat has launched an AI Chief of Staff to serve as the primary interface for enterprises using its platform. The tool addresses what the company calls the Market Adaptation Gap—the delay between market changes and business responses. The AI Chief of Staff tracks market signals, identifies content requiring updates, and maintains quality standards whilst drawing on enterprise knowledge. It connects teams with Smartcat's marketplace of over 500,000 linguistic experts, balancing automation with human judgement. The launch follows commentary from Forbes contributor Serenity Gibbons on operational risks from delayed content updates, particularly around compliance and safety across multiple languages and markets. Smartcat's platform already includes AI agents for content creation, translation, reviews, and quality assurance. The company serves Fortune 1000 brands and maintains SOC II compliance.
Smartcat, an enterprise AI platform for global content creation and localisation, has unveiled two new capabilities ahead of the Life Sciences Trainers & Educators Network Annual Conference: the Content Update Coworker and a reimagined PDF translation solution. The Content Update Coworker automates multilingual content updates in real-time. When product names change or regulations shift, it automatically identifies every instance across all content types and languages, updates them simultaneously and deploys changes without manual intervention. The new PDF translation solution addresses traditional layout distortion issues through smart routing technology. "Our AI coworkers don't just translate—they continuously monitor, identify and execute updates across every language and content type in real-time," said Ivan Smolnikov, Smartcat's CEO and founder. Both capabilities are powered by Smartcat's expert-trained AI coworkers.
Smartcat has unveiled AI-powered multi-agent systems for course creation and translation at Learning Technologies London 2026, enabling enterprise learning and development teams to create and update global training content up to 10 times faster than traditional workflows. The platform introduces industry-first SCORM package translation, handling entire learning experiences including interactions, multimedia and attachments in a single workflow. Its delta detection feature automatically identifies source edits and updates only modified segments across all language versions. The launch addresses growing L&D demands, with Smartcat research showing 75% of teams reporting at least 25% year-over-year content increases. The platform uses AI agents that learn from expert corrections and apply knowledge to future projects, aiming to help companies maintain compliance whilst adapting to shifting regulations and market changes.
