About the Role
Be a part of a team that assists and supports transportation management for multiple Fortune 500 companies. Opportunity to implement and improve processes, drive efficiencies, and create positive financial impact to the customer’s business. The Logistics Specialist III will be accountable for creating and maintaining the carrier relationships with consistent and professional communications.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Maintain carrier service and cost expectations
- Document and execute customer’s standard operating procedures
- Identify and secure Capacity for freight
- Leverages knowledge and understanding of equipment’s, markets, and shipment requirements
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with carriers to meet customer expectations
- Negotiate Carrier Rates for New and Existing Business
- Manage KPIs and identify trends with shipper, receiver and carrier performance and recommend actions for improvement
- Act as intermediary in problem resolution between accounts and carriers
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with shippers and receivers through professional and timely communications and inquiry responses
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent
- 2-3 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- College degree or equivalent
- Transportation industry knowledge, including key terminology; and general knowledge of industry verticals
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite and/or Google Tools
- Understanding of Uber Freight transportation management systems
