- Experience in independent valuation of hedge fund portfolios across listed and OTC financial instruments.
- Ability to validate market prices and apply valuation methodologies to support risk management, NAV calculation, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Perform daily independent price verification for listed securities (equities, ETFs, futures, options) and OTC derivatives (swaps, forwards, structured products, credit derivatives). Validate prices from multiple sources (brokers, vendors, exchanges). Investigate and resolve pricing discrepancies and stale prices.
- Develop and apply valuation models for OTC instruments, including interest rate swaps, FX forwards, CDS, options, structured notes; Calibrate models using market data (curves, vol surfaces, spreads); Work with quants to enhance pricing methodologies; Assess model assumptions and valuation adjustments (e.g., credit valuation adjustment, debt valuation adjustment).
- Ensure accurate pricing of exchange-traded instruments using closing prices, settlement prices, official exchange feeds; Handle corporate actions (dividends, splits, mergers); Monitor liquidity and market activity for fair value considerations.
- Source and validate market data inputs (yield curves, volatility surfaces, credit spreads); Ensure data integrity and consistency across systems; Liaise with vendors (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv).
- Support daily/monthly Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations; Explain P&L movements related to pricing changes; Work closely with Fund Accounting and Risk teams.
- Maintain valuation policies in line with regulatory standards (IFRS, GAAP); Document valuation methodologies and model assumptions; Participate in valuation committees and audits; Ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulations.
- Collaborate with Front Office (traders, portfolio managers), Risk Management, Fund Accounting, External auditors and administrators; Provide pricing insights and challenge front office marks where necessary.
