Requirements
  • Strong academic background in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Extensive client-facing experience with top-tier institutional investors, including banks, insurance companies, and real money funds.
  • Expertise in Structuring and Originating Security Financing Transactions, Structured Credit and Asset Based Financing.
  • Solid technical knowledge of structured products, derivatives, and valuation models.
  • Understanding of capital, accounting, and regulatory implications of financial products.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, VBA, and financial modeling tools; knowledge of Python or similar programming languages is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, lead projects, and supervise teams.
  • Fluency in English required; Spanish or other European languages are an advantage.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the GS team in defining strategic initiatives, balancing client needs with BBVA’s trading strategy and risk appetite.
  • Coordinate the generation of new ideas and product solutions for the Sales desks, leading interaction with Trading and product areas. Design tailored GM product proposals based on client needs and market views.
  • In coordination with Sales and bankers, originate new transaction (Security Financing Transactions, Structured Credit and Asset Based Financing).
  • Work closely with Accounting & Capital Solutions Specialists to analyze capital consumption and accounting implications, developing products that optimize financial and accounting outcomes for both clients and BBVA.
  • Support Sales teams in client engagement: attend meetings, explain product structures, features, and risks, ensuring alignment with clients’ investment and hedging needs as well as applicable regulatory and accounting frameworks.
  • Oversee preparation of product presentations and commercial documentation, ensuring clarity, transparency, and accurate risk/scenario analysis.
  • Coordinate with Risk units to present new products and negotiate risk frameworks; participate in relevant committees for product approval.
  • Engage with Quantitative & Business Solutions to validate and approve valuation models, detecting potential inconsistencies or calibration issues together with Trading.
  • Act as a bridge between Sales and Trading teams to align commercial and trading strategies and ensure effective knowledge sharing on market and client needs.
  • Contribute to the definition of Global Markets’ operational processes and workflows, incorporating new concepts such as CVA, FVA, and funding costs/benefits.
  • Lead specific GS projects, coordinating with Operations, Legal, and Risk, and representing GS in cross-departmental working groups.
  • Drive revenue generation to achieve annual budget targets by developing and marketing structured products.
  • Manage the desk: delegate tasks according to expertise and workload, supervise structuring activity, and monitor performance.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external operational, regulatory, and risk policies, supporting Internal Control CIB in monitoring adherence to trading frameworks.
  • Manage staffing matters with the GS Manager and HR: recruitment, training, talent development, and retention.
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc reports to the GS Manager on product development and operational progress.
