Requirements
  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related required
  • License PE preferred
  • Experience related to road or bridge construction management preferred, DOT experience a plus
  • Construction management background or interest in working on field/construction engineering projects preferred
  • Industry training or certifications a plus
  • Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work outside on foot for extended periods of time
  • Willingness to be flexible with variable work shifts during the entire work week and day/night shifts
  • Willingness to travel to project sites, sometimes out-of-town
  • Good driving record and valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
  • Review applicable construction standards, regulations, and contract requirements necessary for the completion of assigned tasks
  • Field inspection and materials testing for compliance and detailed documentation of construction activities
  • Assist in the design of projects and preparation of construction specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents for bidding
  • Inform Project Manager on the progress of work and pertinent issues by compiling written, oral and/or a diagram presentation
  • Comply with all applicable safety and environmental requirements
  • Contribute to schedules, track project progress, keep contract conflict from escalating into a problem
  • Interaction with contractors and their representatives while representing the contract owner
  • Being part of a team of civil engineering and technical professionals constructing transportation and municipal infrastructure
  • Assist in civil infrastructure construction and design opportunities within a company that extends across the multiple regional areas
