Business Applications Specialist 2

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Business Application Specialist delivers support to internal end users on various software application programs. This role will act as a subject matter expert for assigned primary and secondary systems, supporting end users to optimize platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

• Provide tier 2 application support (e.g., MTech Amino, MTech Sonar, Beta Raven, etc.) for internal end users including monitoring submitted tickets to ensure tickets are addressed in a timely manner

• Coordinate activities with end users, help desk, infrastructure, application development, data services, and 3rd party vendor support to resolve issues

• Participate in or lead projects to support business applications and implement approved changes to enhance the functionality of applications; assist with rollout to end users as applicable

• Maintain and update documentation and provide training to ensure end users are optimally utilizing the applications

• Research and troubleshoot reported issues using SQL query/basic report writing to find a solution

• Identify opportunities for improvement for existing applications, provide and/or recommend innovative ideas, processes, enhancements, and modifications

• Participate in and/or lead assigned projects to update or implement current or new platforms

• Rotate with team members for On Call scheduling to provide assistance to end users on issues during off hours

• Perform additional relevant duties as assigned

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• None. This is an individual contributor role with required competencies: Functional/Technical Skills, Action Oriented, Problem Solving, Learning on the Fly, and Interpersonal Savvy

EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field from an accredited institution

• A combination of applicable experience and education may be substituted for education requirement

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Minimum three (3) years’ experience with supporting business applications systems including MTech Amino, MTech Sonar, Beta Raven, or other manufacturing-related applications; relevant experience within the poultry/protein, food & beverage manufacturing preferred

• Minimum three (3) years’ experience with enterprise or manufacturing systems support

• Good computer skills, knowledge of MS Office 365 required

• Strong programming skills including knowledge of building and utilizing SQL
