- Graduate from an accredited medical assistant program and hold current California certification as a Medical Assistant free from disciplinary action.
- Have a minimum of five years of clinical experience.
- Have phlebotomy technician experience and the ability to administer injections, such as flu shots.
- Effectively consult with others and understand applicable safety regulations.
- Have customer service, administrative, and technical skills.
- Have knowledge of Google Suite, including Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, and Sheets; Microsoft Office; Smartsheet; and electronic medical record systems.
- Be familiar with workers' compensation guidelines and processes.
- Be able to sit at a desk and/or stand and walk for up to eight hours per day, maintain various postural positions, and lift.
- Greet patients and provide professional, patient-centered service.
- Answer clinic phone calls and emails.
- Schedule and reschedule appointments for multiple providers.
- Manage clinic calendars and workflow.
- Perform patient intakes and initial evaluations.
- Handle extensive medical record documentation in electronic medical record systems.
- Provide specialized clinical services based on the reason for the visit.
- Refer patients to the appropriate level of healthcare provider.
- Support adherence to occupational health and environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to maintain an efficient clinic environment.
- National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health certification in spirometry.
- American National Standards Institute certification in audiometry.
- American Heart Association certification in Basic Life Support.
