Requirements
  • A Secret clearance is required.
  • Have at least a master's degree with at least 18 undergraduate semester credit hours and 24 graduate semester hours directly related to U.S. national security strategy, international relations, aviation leadership, political science, or another related academic discipline approved by the Government; or have at least two years of recent teaching experience completed within the last 18 months and a master's degree in a closely related field approved by the Government; or have at least three years as a Combat Aviation Advisor or related experience and a bachelor's degree in any field.
  • Provide official transcripts for each college degree claimed.
  • A bachelor's degree is required in political science, conflict management, military science, international relations, regional area study, or a related field.
  • Have a minimum of five years of formal military or U.S. government experience in international aviation partnership building, verified by DD Form 214.
  • Have at least two years of experience teaching military audiences.
  • Have experience developing curricula and teaching materials related to the area of expertise for undergraduate- and graduate-level courses.
  • Have at least two years of experience living overseas while directly supporting a U.S. Department of Defense aviation security cooperation mission.
Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute two-week residential and non-residential seminars in English and other languages as directed.
  • Create agendas, develop lesson plans, recruit expert guest speakers, organize hospitality events, manage classroom and seminar logistics, orchestrate field studies, and teach lesson blocks as required.
  • Ensure course conduct follows U.S. Air Force Instructional Systems Development guidelines.
  • Manage the curriculum development and review process to ensure the course meets or exceeds the needs of Special Operations Forces customers.
  • Work with the United States Air Force Special Operations School International Military Student Officer to welcome international students ranging from senior enlisted personnel to general officers.
  • Ensure certification of the Building Partner Aviation Capacity Seminar curriculum complies with Defense Security Cooperation Agency requirements for Expanded International Military Education and Training, the Office of the Secretary of Defense Counter Terrorism Fellowship Program, and relevant regional Congressional funding authorities.
  • Orchestrate in-depth logistics support plans for hosting international students, including weekends before, during, and after the seminar as required by individual needs.
  • Perform occasional duty beyond the normal 0730 to 1630 weekday schedule during the actual course.
  • Conduct Building Partner Aviation Capacity Seminar iterations a maximum of four times per year.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree is preferred in political science, conflict management, military science, international relations, regional area study, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of a foreign language is preferred.
