Requirements
  • 5+ years of demonstrated success in a procurement or vendor management role within the procurement team at an established and fast moving business with at least 300 vendors and an annual vendor spend of ~$75MM.
  • Experience negotiating complex vendor contracts, particularly with technology vendors (experience with SaaS contracts is an asset), including a track-record of achieving improved contract economics.
  • Experience successfully managing millions of dollars of annual vendor spend and the ability to identify and execute on cost savings opportunities.
  • Experience aligning contracts with regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders and teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with superior attention to detail.
  • A bachelor's degree; Advanced degree is a plus.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the procurement and vendor management function at Wealthsimple.
  • Oversee procurement policies, such as supplier selection criteria, contract guidelines, payment terms and supplier diversity.
  • Partner with the Legal team in the drafting and negotiation of contracts, renewals and termination of services and provide functional leaders with competitive RFP processes and benchmarking to aid in vendor selection.
  • Leverage procurement intake software to notify and consult with relevant stakeholders in the vendor approval workflow on potential risks, such as data and privacy risk, third-party vendor risk, credit risk and operational risk.
  • Manage supplier and stakeholder relationships by partnering with the supplier relationship manager and the functional leader in evaluating supplier performance and issue resolution to unlock cost savings and manage auto renewals.
  • Support the implementation of our new procurement intake software, Zip, ensuring that approval workflows in the system are effective and efficient for all teams that are a part of the process.
