Requirements
  • Understanding of medical terminology.
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
  • Must be willing to travel between locations within the health system as needed.
  • Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate of Competency/Recognition in Medical Assisting Clinical/Back Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • BLS certification upon hire.
  • Ability to work well in a constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the health system.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization.
  • Must comply with background check and Live Scan requirements, employment misconduct disclosure requirements, vaccination policies, smoking and tobacco policies, and a drug-free environment.
Responsibilities
  • Perform non-licensed medical care in the outpatient clinical setting.
  • Perform clerical functions associated with the operations of a clinical office as necessary.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting.
  • Phlebotomy certification.
  • Outpatient experience.
  • Knowledge of university and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
  • Flexibility to work variable shifts, including occasional weekends or holidays.
  • Bilingual skill in Spanish, Vietnamese, or Chinese.
