- Comprehensive experience and thorough knowledge of state and federal programs, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations related to subsidized and Head Start child care services.
- An AA degree or two years of equivalent experience.
- Five years of experience providing customer service and performing detailed administrative duties.
- Previous experience with computerized databases; web-based database experience is preferred.
- Ability to work autonomously and be self-directed.
- Ability to travel efficiently throughout the assigned area.
- A valid California driver's license, a clear driving record, and use of an insured personal vehicle throughout employment.
- Ability to pass a health screening and tuberculosis test.
- Ability to pass background fingerprint clearance.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds when required by job duties.
- Ability to use hands for computer work and answering phone calls.
- Assess full-day and part-day needs of families in assigned areas.
- Analyze data to certify families as eligible for applicable state and federal subsidy programs.
- Schedule and complete enrollment documentation with private-pay and subsidy families.
- Maintain confidentiality of children, families, and staff information.
- Maintain continuing eligibility of subsidy families through recertification.
- Implement plans with families for current and future eligibility and need.
- Project and plan child movement due to aging up to ensure continuity of services.
- Monitor and evaluate family eligibility and need daily to assist families with continuing services.
- Monitor intake of children based on all variables.
- Refer families to internal and external resources based on family need and observation.
- Recognize potential issues in areas of responsibility and resolve them proactively.
- Complete special projects within designated time frames.
- Serve as a member of the strike team leading mass enrollments.
- Certify families for the federal meal program.
- Assist with preparation for contract monitor reviews and other audits.
- Attend necessary training, including contact with state consultants, conferences, and seminars.
- Promote the agency's mission and philosophy as a member of the agency team.
- Interact with a diverse group of clients and present a professional image as a representative of Kidango.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with people contacted during the course of work.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Enrollment.
- Bilingual Spanish language ability.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of organizational policies, practices, procedures, cultures, and formal and informal channels for getting work done.
