Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 8 years of mechanical design experience involving subsystems, chassis or line-replaceable units, circuit card assemblies, and interconnects for radio-frequency and digital electronics serving aerospace and military customers.
  • Experience with finite element analysis thermal and structural modeling and analysis.
  • Experience with military and aerospace specifications, including environmental requirements such as extreme temperatures, altitude, vibration, shock, and salt fog.
  • Ability to work as part of a cross-functional engineering team.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and meet assigned technical, schedule, and cost commitments.
  • United States citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a United States government security clearance.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Willingness to complete a drug test and background check.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the mechanical design and development of high-power radio-frequency amplifiers, subsystems, and chassis or line-replaceable units from initial concept through qualification, manufacturing, and volume production.
  • Develop and execute product development plans to meet technical requirements, program schedules, and cost objectives.
  • Create conceptual designs and detailed mechanical solutions, and develop and maintain accurate bills of materials.
  • Design and implement forced-air and liquid-cooled thermal management systems for high-power electronics.
  • Perform finite element analysis for thermal, shock, and vibration performance of circuit board assemblies, line-replaceable units, and mechanical structures.
  • Prepare and maintain engineering drawings, design documentation, and bills of materials.
  • Conduct tolerance stack-up analyses using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles.
  • Participate in and lead peer reviews, internal design reviews, and customer-facing technical design reviews.
Desired Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks, Ansys, and Flotherm.
