Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership regarding safety on the jobsite.
  • Provide leadership regarding quality on the jobsite and eliminate rejected or sloppy work.
  • Perform projects consistently under budget and on time.
  • Evaluate field employees and identify candidates for promotion; provide guidance and training to assist their development; and communicate evaluation information to Construction Managers and Human Resources.
  • Use experience and skills to identify opportunities to improve company practices and resources.
  • Represent the company professionally to customers and employees, build relationships with regional customers, and provide customer feedback to Project Management.
  • Contribute positively to pre-construction planning.
  • Communicate with support staff.
  • Understand estimated man-hours and project scope before job start, and work with the Project Manager to track weekly progress through field labor reports.
  • Work with the Safety Specialist, Construction Administration, and Human Resources to ensure employees assigned to upcoming or ongoing work have received necessary training and certifications.
  • Complete daily time sheets, safety and quality audits, customer-required paperwork, equipment inspections, and other necessary paperwork.
  • Advise Project Management of potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties, and assist in resolving them.
  • Provide complete final project paperwork.
  • Assist Construction Managers and Human Resources in recruiting field workers.
  • Receive, inventory, replenish, and load tool sets going to and returning from jobs.
  • Oversee maintenance and eventual sale of vehicles, trailers, tooling, and equipment.
  • Provide guidance and assist with specifying and purchasing new equipment.
  • Organize, inspect, repair, and replenish warehouse materials and tooling.
