Requirements
  • At least one year of experience in a financial institution or retail/service-related position for Member Consultant I.
  • At least one year of experience in a financial institution processing consumer loans, new accounts, and member transactions for Member Consultant II.
  • Computer experience with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Willingness to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry, including fingerprinting and a national criminal background check, and to maintain and renew the registration annually.
  • A resume must be included with the application.
Responsibilities
  • Perform all branch functions, including consumer lending, opening new accounts, and providing teller services.
  • Meet sales and service goals while keeping members’ best interests central.
  • Build and nurture strong member relationships.
  • Understand members’ needs and journeys and offer appropriate products and services.
  • Support branch teammates as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Credit union experience.
  • Two years of college for Member Consultant II.
  • Experience with cash handling, lending, new accounts, or a combination of these.
  • Experience with Symitar, Meridian Link, Image Center, Application Xtender, and Coconut.

Harry Zhu to lead $5.1B WSECU as President & CEO, succeeding retiring Gary Swindler

WSECU, a $5.1 billion credit union based in Olympia, Washington, has appointed Harry Zhu as its next president and CEO. He will join the member-owned cooperative on 21 September 2026. Zhu succeeds Gary Swindler, who is retiring after 37 years with the organisation. Most recently, Zhu served as CEO at USAlliance Federal Credit Union in New York. He previously spent 13 years as a senior executive at Alliant Credit Union, where he led transformation initiatives that helped grow assets from $7 billion to $18 billion. WSECU serves over 315,000 members across 25 branches in Washington state and will approach its 70th anniversary in 2027.

July 22, 2026 July 22, 2026 (Olympia, Wash.) - WSECU has been named a top credit union in Washington state on the Forbes Best-in-State Credit Unions list for 2026, the sixth consecutive year it has earned a place on the prestigious list. WSECU is the only credit union to land on the list of Washington's best credit unions for the last six consecutive years. "We set ourselves apart with great service and listening to members at every step of their financial journeys," said Ann Flannigan, VP of Public Relations at WSECU. "It's a true honor to be recognized by such a trusted source based on member feedback. Being the only Washington credit union on the list for the sixth year running is a tribute to the consistent care and commitment our employees bring to their jobs every day." Flannigan added that consumers have many exceptional credit union options across Washington for their banking and the Forbes list is a guide to find a not-for-profit cooperative in their community. The not-for-profit cooperative was recognized by its members and communities to earn a place on the list. Forbes and Statista Inc. identified Best-In-State Credit Unions 2026 based on an independent survey of approximately 26,000 US consumers who were asked how satisfied they were and how likely they were to recommend financial institutions they know from their own financial experiences and those of friends and family. Survey respondents were also asked to rate the financial institutions on factors including trust, customer service, digital tools, quality of financial advice given, and whether fees were transparent and reasonable. Statista also gathered more than 1.2 million publicly available reviews and ratings online about each financial institution between February 2023 and March 2026, accounting for 20% of the total scoring for each institution. Nationally, 246 credit unions were recognized in the list. WSECU will celebrate 69 years of helping members achieve greater financial wellness this July. Since its beginning in 1957, the credit union has grown to over $5.4 billion in assets and serves more than 315,000 members through its 25 branches, the Contact Center and digital channels.

Salal Credit Union announces new CEO. * john stearns * 5 hrs ago. Salal Credit Union has named its next president and CEO, who will take over effective Jan. 1. Kevin Skinner was selected by the credit union's board of directors after a national search conducted in partnership with Smith & Wilkinson, the credit union announced today in a news release. Current CEO Russ Rosendal is retiring at year end after nearly 17 years with the credit union. Skinner will join Salal Dec. 1 to begin the leadership transition. Salal, based in Seattle, has branches in Bellevue and Tukwila, plus two in Seattle. As of June 30, it reported total assets approaching $1.2 billion, almost 61,000 members, and 227 full-time employees, according to the National Credit Union Administration. Skinner joins Salal from Washington State Employees Credit Union, where he served as vice president of retail lending, overseeing consumer- and residential-lending production, operations, credit risk, and product development. He has more than 25 years of experience in financial services, including leadership roles at Umpqua and HomeStreet banks, USAA, and Washington Mutual. At Umpqua, Skinner led the home-lending division, managing nearly 700 employees across a $7 billion annual business, a $5-billion portfolio of permanent and construction loans, and a $15-billion servicing operation. His career also has included strong advocacy for affordable housing and member-focused innovation, including service on the Freddie Mac Regional Lender Advisory Board, the Mortgage Bankers Association Secondary and Capital Markets Committee, and the ABA Mortgage Markets and Lending Technology Committee. He currently serves as treasurer of the board of delegates for Homestead Community Land Trust, which creates permanently affordable homeownership opportunities for low- to moderate-income households in King and Pierce counties, Salal's release said. "Kevin brings extensive experience leading large, complex financial organizations while maintaining a strong commitment to the cooperative values that define our credit union," Brian Luong, chair of Salal's board of directors, said in a statement. "His ability to build high-performing teams, drive innovation, and lead with purpose gives us great confidence in his capacity to build on Russ's legacy and guide Salal into its next era of growth and service." Skinner said he was honored to join the organization. "Salal's vision for sustainable growth, innovation, and expanding access to financial wellness aligns perfectly with my own values and experience," he said in the release. "I look forward to building on that success and continuing to expand the ways we serve our members and communities." Founded in 1948, Salal's name comes from the Salal plant, which the credit union's website said "is a tenacious and adaptable evergreen that thrives in challenging conditions" and has long been used by the Indigenous people of the Pacific Northwest for nourishment and healing.
