Requirements
  • A high school diploma is required.
  • Understanding of manufacturing industries is required.
  • At least 3 years of CNC programming or nesting experience is required.
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft software, including Word and Excel.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and SigmaNest.
  • Ability to read tape measures, micrometers, calipers, and other measuring devices.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and management.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and assist teammates when necessary.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required by the position.
Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain a safe, organized working environment.
  • Assist with troubleshooting programming issues.
  • Report product discrepancies to Quality and Sales.
  • Communicate with Operations and Sales in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Operations, and Quality to address issues related to customer specifications.
  • Evaluate parts to be bid on, consult with Sales on manufacturing methods, and determine the time or supplies needed to make components.
  • Create computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing files for parts made on all CNC machines in the shop as needed.
  • Assist the Quality Control Manager with customer-required documents pertaining to parts generated on CNC machines, including PPAPs.
  • Maintain tooling prices from vendors for tools used in current programs.
  • Assist the Production Supervisor with reordering worn or damaged tooling and maintain an inventory of these items.
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by the Operations Manager.
Desired Qualifications
  • A technician degree or certification in CNC is preferred.
  • AutoCAD experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Power Cut and Power Bend is preferred.

Wieland acquires California centrifugal casting specialist Techni-Cast

Wieland has acquired Techni-Cast LLC, a South Gate, California-based centrifugal-casting foundry. Founded in 1954, the family-owned company operates two production sites with around 100 employees and holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and AS9100 certifications for aerospace suppliers. Techni-Cast offers melting, centrifugal casting, heat treatment and precision machining services. The company's equipment includes CNC machines for tight-tolerance machining and conventional lathes for deburring, enabling delivery of fully processed components for critical applications in demanding markets. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
