POSITION OVERVIEW

The Workforce Planning Associate will join the Ops Controller Team in the Hartford, CT or Batesville, IN. office and will be responsible for both long-term and short-term planning for back-office teams within Preneed Operations. The candidate must demonstrate excellent analytical skills with the ability to make value-based decisions in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

Primary responsibilities of this role include:

Oversee the development and maintenance of capacity/staffing models for Preneed Inforce & New Business. Produce long and short-term forecasts, staffing recommendations, and lead decision making processes with management and leadership.
Ownership of daily tactical workload distribution. Balance workload and maintain service level via the efficient and effective allocation of workload.
Report on productivity, capacity, bottlenecks and opportunities. Deliver KPIs and metrics to help inform the business on opportunities for improvement.
Maintain hiring plans to ensure staffing requirements are consistently met; balance attrition expectations with new hire classes.
Foster and encourage an environment of continuous improvement. Provide feedback and develop initiatives to improve processes and performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree preferred, and 5+ years relevant work experience
Experience in Operations is required, Preneed Insurance field a plus
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills are required.
Experience with Verint applications is a plus.
Comfort in complex problem solving, judgment, critical thinking and decision making.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with co-workers, management team, other Departments, vendors, and outside agencies, including being sensitive to professional ethics.
Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access (Tableau, VBA, SQL, a plus)
Ability and willingness to learn new software applications.
