- Completion of recognized training course for Surgical Technician (military or civilian)
- Current Basic Life Support Level C (Healthcare Provider) certification
- One year experience as a Labor & Delivery technician in an acute care setting
- Demonstrated ability to scrub procedures in all specialty areas as well as to provide training for other technicians
- Stocks all Labor rooms and LDRs in advance.
- Prepares and passes instruments, sutures, and supplies needed in the operative procedure using principles of aseptic technique.
- Ensures specimens are correctly collected, labeled, and delivered to the appropriate department.
- Assists in safely transporting patients.
- Scrubs for C-Sections and deliveries and maintains skills in computer order entry.
- Anticipates and orders required supplies and equipment in Labor and Delivery.
