Chowbus, an AI-powered platform for culturally rooted restaurants, has raised $81 million in a funding round led by Prysm Capital and Left Lane Capital. Dutchess, Fika and Avid Bank also participated. The company has grown to $120 million in annual recurring revenue, representing ninefold growth over four years, with approximately $4 billion in annualised processed transaction volume across the US and Canada. Founded in 2016, Chowbus is expanding beyond its POS system into restaurant services including marketing, accounting, supply ordering and insurance. The Asian restaurant industry, a core market for Chowbus, represents approximately 16% of the US restaurant market and is projected to reach $240 billion by end of 2026. The funding will support AI-driven tools development, service integration and international expansion into Canada.
Chowbus, a technology service provider for North American restaurants, has launched an AI Digital Marketing feature to help restaurant owners manage advertising and online reviews through a single platform. The company is offering up to $600 in Google and Yelp advertising credits to merchants who sign up during the promotional period. The feature includes three core capabilities: AI-assisted advertising management for Google and Yelp, centralised review management with AI-generated response suggestions, and integration with Chowbus's existing point-of-sale and delivery systems. Merchants can create ads, track performance and respond to reviews without switching between platforms. Chowbus has over ten years of experience in the North American restaurant industry and serves more than 10,000 merchants.
