  • Ensuring new frontline employees have tools, instruction, and feedback for successful daily duties
  • Meet with new frontline employees daily to ensure consistent communication and support of onboarding
  • Provide timely and consistent touchpoints with frontline employees.
  • Regular review of best practices to enhance daily performance
  • Focus on understanding and progress of frontline employee career goals
  • Identify and address improvement opportunities and collaborate with frontline employees to ensure continued success
  • Actively practice and seek feedback on coaching conversations.

Waste Management on Wednesday said John Morris, who currently serves as president of the Houston company, will take on the additional post of CEO on Jan. 4, 2027. Fish, who has been CEO and a director since 2016, will also step down from the board, while Morris will join the board, the company said. Morris, 57 years old, joined Waste Management in 1994 and assumed the post of president from Fish last year. Fish joined Waste Management in 2001. Published August 26, 2026 Jim Fish, WM CEO and member of the board of directors, will retire from the Houston-based firm and resign from the board after spending nearly a decade in his current roles and more than 25 years with the company. "John is an exceptional leader with a proven track record of delivering results and advancing WM's strategy.
