- Ability to troubleshoot and perform maintenance and repairs on building automation systems.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff, contractors, vendors, and external agencies.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five years of experience directly related to building automation and control, energy management, and large-scale, multi-building HVAC systems.
- Valid motor vehicle operator’s license meeting North Carolina requirements.
- Completion of safety training according to Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards within 12 months of employment.
- Perform experienced or master craftsman-level work associated with building automation systems, materials, equipment, and fixtures.
- Respond to assigned work orders relating to energy management and HVAC.
- Troubleshoot, determine appropriate corrective measures, and perform work to provide a solution.
- Replace faulty or defective building automation equipment and systems.
- Monitor and adjust building automation software to ensure efficient equipment operation and compliance with energy policies.
- Prepare and maintain records, work logs, and reports as needed.
- Adhere to laws, regulations, and requirements set forth in Wake County Public School System safety procedures and policies.
- Maintain compliance with safety procedures and occupational health practices and maintain a safe work environment.
- Operate automotive equipment and work in indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to hazardous materials, gases, chemicals, moving parts, and inclement weather conditions, while performing heavy physical work requiring exertion of up to 75 pounds of force.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Associate degree or technical school training in a related field.
- Certification in LonWorks, BACnet, and/or Tridium AX Architecture.
- Experience with Schneider Electric, Honeywell, Trane, and/or other building automation systems.
