Who You’ll Work With:
The Director of Strategic Partnerships will work closely with the leaders of our UHNW & Growth Strategies initiatives to identify and execute opportunities to expand Bernstein’s service model. This role is client-facing, and requires the ability to build and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors.
Where the team opts for an external solution (vendor or partner) the Director of Strategic Partnerships will conduct due diligence of options and deliver a recommendation on a partner or vendor based on comprehensive research and evaluation. Additionally, they must establish a system for periodic vendor review and maintain a repeatable process for evaluating partnership engagements.
What You’ll Do:
Act as a key client-facing representative of the organization, meeting with clients and prospective clients to help identify appropriate resources based on their needs, address any questions and gather feedback on their experience with preferred providers and partners.
Drive business planning and structuring to expand Bernstein’s service model in collaboration with the leaders of our UHNW & Growth Strategies initiatives.
Conduct comprehensive research and due diligence to evaluate potential partners and vendors, and deliver recommendations based on analysis of the competitive landscape.
Negotiate partnership terms, including preferred pricing, revenue sharing, exclusivity, and non-solicitation provisions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (digital, client service, investment strategies, institute leads, etc.) to launch partnerships internally or onboard vendors.
Work with the Private Wealth Infrastructure teams to scope and prioritize projects related to building capabilities, and represent the business as a stakeholder in these projects.
Partner with Financial Advisors to steer clients towards preferred providers and partners best suited to meet their needs, and establish a process for collecting feedback from clients about their experience.
Partner with Marketing & Talent Development to strategically leverage trusted partners in Bernstein experiences, external thought leadership, internal continued education, and social.
Maintain and consistently reevaluate a governance process to improve the efficiency of sourcing and launching future partnership opportunities.
Evaluate partnerships and vendors on a regular basis to ensure that they continue to deliver on their previously established service, and establish applicable metrics and key performance indicators to measure progress.
Develop partner engagement initiatives to drive awareness, forecast for strategic changes, and establish a process of defining success and growth metrics.
What We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of relevant financial services experiences. In addition, the candidate for this role will have a proven track record of success in a senior-level strategic partnerships role, with experience in conducting due diligence, negotiating partnership terms, and building and maintaining relationships with external partners and vendors. They will be highly client-facing, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and drive business planning and structuring to expand Bernstein’s service model.

In accordance with applicable law, the minimum and maximum base annual salary for this role is as follows: Base Salary Range: $140,000 to $175,000. Actual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base salary is just one component of total compensation at AB, which may include, depending on eligibility, commissions, year-end incentive compensation, short- and long-term incentives and Department-specific awards.
