This position is for an immediate need at University of Illinois’ Research Park, working as a Rivian employee on Rivian projects.

Rivian internships are experiences optimized for student candidates. To be eligible, you must be an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited program during the internship term with an expected graduation date between Fall 2023 through Fall 2025.

Are you ready to join Rivian’s Electrical Hardware team? We are seeking an intern to assist the Embedded Platform Architecture team to design and implement a Software Application Framework that would help verify and validate the hardware design of Electrical Control Units.

Responsibilities

Be part of a world-class team to develop Embedded Platform Software for Rivian Autonomous Driving platform.
Understand the specs, write code in C/Python, debug h/w+s/w issues, work with peer/stakeholders/designers to collect the requirements and provide solutions.

Qualifications

Enrolled in an undergraduate or post-graduate program in Mechanical, Computer Science, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or related field, preferred.
Knowledge of embedded platform architecture, required. (GPU, PCIe, Camera)
Working knowledge of networking protocols, required.
Experience in embedded software development, required.
Experience in linux operating systems, real time operating systems required.
Proficiency in python, C programming, required.
Prior experiences in autonomous driving/self driving, infotainment, or PC/Server technologies, preferred.
Must be located in Champaign, IL
Must be available for 10-20 hours per week in the Spring and Fall semesters, and 40 hours in the Summer

Must be available for weekly task status update meetings, and monthly project status update calls

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Internships: The range of pay for internships is 25.00-51.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on location, and other factors permitted by law.

Rivian provides robust wellness benefits, and a medical insurance package for interns, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
