  • Shift: Day Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm PST
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not necessary
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience
  • Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Requires the ability to learn how to apply government, commercial, and organizational standards.
  • Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Performs tasks utilizing intermediate language and intermediate to high math skills.
  • Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Performs tasks utilizing basic understanding of measuring equipment used for inspection and testing.
  • Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.
  • Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Is familiar with the manufacturing computer system used to enter time, part transfers, scrap and any other transactions necessary to maintain accurate and timely records.
Responsibilities
  • Metrologist I is responsible for the calibration of inspection, measuring and test equipment, including all related record-keeping. Also, the scheduling and monitoring of all outsourced calibration activities.
  • Requires the ability to learn and meet established department specific work instructions for basic hand inspection, measuring and test equipment as assigned.
  • With supervision, tests, calibrates, and repairs assigned basic hand inspection, measuring and test equipment for conformance to established government, commercial and organizational standards.
  • Adjusts basic hand instruments to calibration standards and assembles equipment.
  • Uses calibration recall system to record assigned equipment’s calibration history and status.
  • Recommends equipment needed to support current and future inspection and calibration needs.
  • Understands and meets quality standards. Seeks to minimize reject rate.
  • Participates in continuous improvement efforts. Supports and helps to implement new ideas.
  • Assists in any and all areas as assigned.
  • May work any and all shifts/days as required.
