Requirements
  • A Doctor of Medicine from an accredited medical school or a terminal degree in a related field is required; for Postdoctoral Fellow 0, a letter certifying completion of all student work may be accepted.
  • Postdoctoral Fellow 0 requires no postdoctoral experience; levels 1 through 4 require one, two, three, or four years of postdoctoral experience, respectively.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of biomedical research is required.
  • Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English is required to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • The candidate must demonstrate the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job.
  • The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, family members, and coworkers.
Responsibilities
  • Perform basic research duties under the supervision or direction of a physician and/or principal investigator.
  • Work in a laboratory setting or perform computer work supporting the department's research mission.
  • Assist the physician in maintaining the functionality and operations of the principal investigator's laboratory.
  • Develop research methods and perform research activities.
  • Document research results and write reports for presentation and/or publication in professional journals and other publications.
  • Participate in research activities, evidence-based practice projects, and departmental projects.
  • Follow safety rules, report accidents, correct minor safety hazards, and communicate identified hazards.
  • Assist with implementation and education of department-based safety initiatives, standards of practice, and protocols.
  • Identify opportunities for corrective action and process improvement and contribute to quality and safety targets.
  • Manage time and resources effectively and prioritize daily tasks.
  • Seek opportunities for continued learning and professional development and remain current on professional issues and clinical skills.
