Requirements
  • A Master's degree in computer science, statistics, or a STEM major with a minimum of 5 years of Information Systems experience, or a Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, or a STEM major with a minimum of 7 years of Information Systems experience.
  • Experience developing analytics models using SQL, Python, and Microsoft Excel.
Responsibilities
  • Lead analytics for the United States Value and Access rare disease business unit.
  • Partner with United States Coverage and Pricing, Contracting, Patient Access and Reimbursement, and other Commercial teams to build and prioritize analytics and insights plans supporting value and access strategy for Amgen brands.
  • Provide oversight and delivery of managed markets analysis, including product formulary position, utilization management controls, customer segmentation, and control or sophistication assessment.
  • Develop frameworks and analytics to characterize the rare disease patient journey, including symptoms and diagnosis, referral pathways, treatment initiation, switching, discontinuation, and persistence.
  • Prepare, continuously refine, and present periodic reports tracking product and portfolio performance against business objectives.
  • Execute analytics plans to support payer insights from payer datasets, including patient-level claims data, payer claims data, formulary coverage, and specialty pharmacy data.
  • Oversee 1–3 associates, including setting performance standards, managing staffing, and monitoring performance.
  • Build and maintain relationships with cross-functional partners, proactively seek buy-in, and provide ongoing support to address business needs.
  • Lead the development of analytics models to generate strategic, actionable business insights using SQL, Python, and Microsoft Excel.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with new product or indication launches, especially in rare disease areas.
  • Experience analyzing products with medical benefit and pharmacy benefit usage.
  • Experience with contracts and pricing, direct payer experience, or value marketing, along with a foundational understanding of the United States payer environment and healthcare market.
  • Conceptual problem-solving skills and the ability to structure vaguely defined problems, take a pragmatic problem-solving approach, and manage execution.
  • Written and oral communication skills and executive presence across functions and leadership levels.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to influence different styles.
  • At least 5 years of healthcare experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, healthcare, or strategy consulting, specifically involving coverage, access, and reimbursement drivers affecting the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of business strategies.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with the Databricks platform for data analytics.
  • Proficiency in at least one of R, Python, or SAS.
