Requirements
  • 2nd or 3rd year undergraduate students interested in exploring a career in Accounting & Finance, with an emphasis in corporate finance.
  • A genuine and demonstrable interest in business analysis, accounting, and FP&A through coursework, projects, or prior experience.
  • Familiarity with accounting principles and exposure to financial modeling or data analysis tools (Excel preferred).
  • Proven initiative, attention to detail, and work ethic, with the ability to manage assignments independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in monthly forecasting of revenue and expense line items.
  • Support the accounting close process.
  • Perform variance analysis to track performance and year-end planning.
  • Conduct industry research on trends and best practices.
  • Help prepare financial reporting packages.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and ad hoc projects spanning both finance and accounting, with the opportunity to work cross-functionally with other teams.
  • Building and analyzing financial models and projections within our FP&A software and Excel.
  • Assisting with the daily accounting operations of financial data entry, reconciliations, and ad hoc projects.
  • Completing variance analysis to track business performance and prepare reports for senior management.
  • Conducting industry research and presenting the insights/findings.
  • Performing other position responsibilities, as needed.

Hawk Raises $56 Million To Help Banks Counter Financial Crime

Fraud and money laundering prevention provider Hawk has raised $56 million in new funding. The Germany-based company says its Series C round, announced Tuesday (April 8), will help it finance further product innovation and fuel expansion efforts, especially in the U.S. “Hawk enables banks to move beyond the traditional rules-based approach to anti-money laundering and fraud,” the company said in a news release. “Traditional systems create significant problems for compliance teams, including huge volumes of false positive alerts that need to be reviewed, which in turn leads to staffing challenges and costs.”
