  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related field and a paralegal certificate from an American Bar Association-accredited program are required. In lieu of the degree, 7 or more years of legal and transactional experience in a large corporate setting or law firm, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
  • Experience drafting contracts and corporate legal instruments, filing documents with state and federal agencies, and handling licensing and maintenance of entities.
  • Basic understanding of professional licensing and permitting for healthcare clinicians.
  • Basic understanding of or familiarity with corporate entities and partnership terminology and structure.
Responsibilities
  • Perform paralegal and administrative functions assigned by the Associate General Counsel, Litigation and Employment, including creating, maintaining, and overseeing system databases, processes, and documents related to confidential legal and human resources matters.
  • Prepare, manage, and facilitate legal documents and communications agreements for attorney review and approval by identifying forms and formats, producing text, and proofreading.
  • Lead and supervise several hourly legal team members, including hiring, separation, and performance evaluations of direct reports.
  • Provide information and support to the field for owner-dentists, dentists, specialists, and registered dental hygienists.
  • Accept service and review subpoenas and other court documents served, then transmit them to the proper department, personnel, or field personnel for timely handling.
  • Manage files and documents by coordinating with executives, operations partners, field personnel, dental practice owners, and compiling supporting documentation and records.
  • Assist and advise legal team members, leadership, recruiting, and other departments with workflows and systems used to generate agreements and ancillary documents.
  • Perform research assigned by attorneys or management.
  • Act as a liaison with organizational management, internal clients, and outside counsel.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Associate General Counsel, Litigation and Employment, attorneys, and management.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Box, Apttus, X-Author, DocuSign Esignature, DocuSign CLM, Spring CM, and/or Workshare Professional.
  • Strong data and internet research capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and suggest or volunteer ideas for improving department or individual productivity.
  • Problem-solving skills to gather and analyze information, identify problems, and resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Ability to understand complex compensation structures, apply sound judgment, make decisions under pressure, and interpret and apply policies and procedures.

  • Ability to respond to inquiries from field personnel, internal staff, regulatory agencies, vendors, and other business community members.

  • Ability to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable state, federal, and other regulatory requirements related to employment contracts.
