Requirements
  • Master’s degree, with at least one degree in Human Development and Family Sciences, Early Childhood Education, or a related field, conferred by the start of employment

  • At least three years of direct classroom or caregiving experience with young children ages birth through 5
  • Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood licensing requirements

Responsibilities
  • This 9-month non-tenure track Instructor position involves teaching undergraduate students with a focus on early childhood education within the Human Development and Family Sciences (HDFS) program.
  • This position will teach at least three courses per semester, including lab courses, and guide practicum students working with young children (ages birth through 5) at the Jean Tyson Child Development Study Center.
  • Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Desired Qualifications
  • Teaching experience in early childhood education or HDFS-related courses, with an emphasis on infant/toddler development, child guidance, or family studies
  • Experience supervising or mentoring practicum students in early childhood settings
  • Familiarity with developmentally appropriate practice and current research in early learning, family engagement, and parenting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NAEYC standards and Arkansas Child Development Early Learning standards
