Azure Architect – Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement enterprise-scale, secure, and resilient cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Define and apply architecture patterns for cloud-native and hybrid environments.
• Select appropriate services to meet client requirements across compute, storage, networking, identity, and observability.

• Lead end-to-end migration projects, including:
  • Assessment, strategy, and detailed migration planning.
  • Execution of migration methods (lift-and-shift, replatforming, refactoring).
• Leverage Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery (ASR), and Database Migration Service (DMS).

• Conduct application assessments to identify technical debt and remediation opportunities.
• Lead code remediation efforts to modernize legacy apps for cloud compatibility.
• Refactor and optimize code to align with Azure best practices (e.g., statelessness, configuration management, scaling).
• Collaborate with development teams to enable adoption of microservices, containers, and serverless models.

• Automate infrastructure provisioning using IaC tools such as ARM, Bicep, or Terraform.
• Integrate code quality checks, security scanning, and unit testing into DevOps workflows.

• Support workshops, architecture reviews, and presentations.

• Manage project deliverables, timelines, quality assurance, mentorship and oversight to junior engineers.

Must-Have Skills:

• 8+ years of total IT experience, including 3+ years in Azure cloud architecture.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Cloud migrations (VMs, databases, applications) to Azure.
  • Application code remediation and modernization efforts.
  • Azure Compute, Serverless, Networking, Storage, Azure AD, App Services, Azure Monitor.
• Familiarity with cloud-native development principles (e.g., 12-factor apps, event-driven architecture).
• Knowledge of containers and orchestration (Docker, AKS).
• Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python).
• Infrastructure-as-Code using ARM/Bicep or Terraform.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• DevSecOps practices and tools integration.
• Familiarity with legacy system remediation tools and techniques.
• Understanding of cloud cost optimization and governance frameworks.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Associate (or equivalent).
