Requirements
  • A minimum education level of: High School Diploma or its equivalency
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of related work experience
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • State of Hawai‘i Board of Private Security Certification
  • Demonstrated ability to follow departmental and company procedures accurately and efficiently
  • Able to inspect equipment with a high level of detail
  • Maintains a professional, positive and friendly demeanor/attitude
  • Excellent customer service, listening and communication skills
  • Experience with defusing and resolving situations with patrons/customers, demonstrating the ability to communicate clearly specific instructions and explanations
  • Must be able to remain in an extended stationary position for entire shift (8-10 hours)
  • Must be able to walk, run or move quickly to respond to emergency situations
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, weekdays, weekends, holidays and additional hours as venue schedule requires
  • First Aid, CPR/AED Certification. Able to proficiently operate life safety systems and maintain solid working knowledge of emergency procedures
  • Proficient in report writing
  • Maintain a working knowledge of security and transportation processes and best practices
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Strong leadership skills

Responsibilities
  • Disseminates department/company policy information and ensures compliance
  • Provides day-to-day management of Event Security Officers to meet the needs of the venue and client(s)
  • Creates and manages labor schedules and attendance. Maintain ESO schedules using approved scheduling program, including creation of event, random scheduling of ESOs, approval of hours worked for payroll and billing purposes
  • Manage ESOs on duty working events, including but not limited to: Ensure proper placement of staff, attend to requests from ESOs on duty, ensure that on-site customer is satisfied with security services, coordinate with CSO staff and on-duty security supervisor, manage last minute changes and adjustments to security staff assignments to meet changing environments
  • Prepare for and attend weekly internal meetings concerning on-going and future events
  • Prepare for and attend meetings with customers concerning event security
  • Reports violations to company and/or department policies to upper management and/or Human Resources. Schedule meetings accordingly to review staff performance and to discuss necessary action(s). Provide documentation and recommendations, which may include disciplinary action or termination of employment
  • Disseminates reports to executive management and/or other staff to ensure awareness of security issues
  • Properly monitors pertinent information from management concerning departments, duties or current events and communicates information to staff as needed
  • As part of the Security and Guest Services department, may need to perform patrolling duties or shift/post relief to assist direct and indirect reports
  • Investigates and seeks resolution of client issues regarding Event Security
  • Perform random and periodic checks of event security personnel (ESOs & third-party vendors) and correct any deficiencies in security protocol
  • May assist in providing regular safety training to staff
  • Assist Building Security in maintaining event parking
  • Assists in Emergency Evacuation and Crisis Scenario situations, practices and drills
  • Acts as first responder
  • Assist in the evacuation of HCC employees, contractors and visitors during an evacuation scenario
  • Assist in the management of crisis scenarios when needed
  • May administer CPR/AED or First Aid as needed during emergency and/or crisis situations
  • Assist in investigates all incidents as assigned
  • Creates and managers purchase order related to event security
  • Create and manage all client quotes. Make appropriate judgements and decisions to quote Event Security client needs by researching event details, applicable history and discussing event needs with client
  • Reconcile client billing/invoicing against true event charges
  • Ensure accuracy in all tasks involving financial management
  • Manages contract labor schedule. This includes, but is not limited to, submitting labor requests and ensuring labor provider complies with the requests
  • Maintains successful working relationship with vendor; holds regular meetings to discuss successes/challenges
  • Manages contract labor costs in budget.
