Requirements
  • A Bachelor or Master of Science degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical, or civil engineering from an accredited university is required.
  • At least 10 years of relevant industrial experience in project controls, cost control, cost estimation, planning, scheduling, and project management.
  • Knowledge and application of company business standards and good practices.
  • Ability to manage diverse, simultaneous projects of varying complexities across multiple offices and manage multi-office project execution.
  • Sound and ethical business judgment.
  • Ability to recognize and promote talent and rectify teammate issues.
  • Ability to create high-performance teams and achieve project objectives within budget and time frame.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the functions of all engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to relate to customers, suppliers, contractors, government, and professional and trade associations.

  • Ability to set priorities and communicate expectations and requirements clearly.
  • Professional proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Primavera, and other technology tools.

  • Ability to develop construction cost estimates, detailed engineering schedules, and man-hour budgets.
  • Ability to determine construction material quantities.
  • Experience estimating and scheduling professional service hours and assessing project controls work progress and quality.
  • Ability to lead teams to deliver on commitments.
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Lead, train, and mentor project controls professionals for skills development.
  • Review and approve all project controls deliverables.
  • Perform advanced cost control work as a technical specialist for complex engineering assignments.
  • Distribute and update Office Earnings Reports, obtain approvals, and participate in final report reviews.
  • Assist Accounting and Management with developing and tracking office budgets.
  • Validate professional services and construction estimates at project initiation and track changes as projects progress.
  • Produce professional service estimates for project deliverables, project studies, estimates, change notices, and proposal development.
  • Maintain and regularly review estimating software to keep estimate-basis information current and accurate.
  • Develop cost studies to determine efficient approaches to engineering tasks.
  • Ensure permitting requirements are established and communicated to the project team.
  • Initiate timely change notices when scope deviations affect schedule, deliverables, or cost.
  • Plan and organize project controls team work and communicate plans to the team, project leadership, and clients.
  • Track discipline performance budgets, schedule commitments, and quality standards to maintain project control.
  • Use project control tools and delegate work according to team members' technical skills and experience.
  • Participate in planning training, continuing education, and professional development programs.
  • Establish a safe work environment and communicate the company's safety commitment.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients.
  • Promote continuing relationships with company clients.
  • Set guidelines for training, continuing education, and professional development of teammates.
  • Embrace and use technology to set an example for the team.
  • Assess personnel during interviews and through performance.
  • Coach and mentor teammates.
  • Lead technological changes.
  • Coordinate efforts using knowledge of other disciplines' deliverable development.
