Requirements
  • High school graduation and a minimum of one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including perspectives in conflict with one’s own.
  • Commitment to enhancing one’s awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in organizing, preparing, and undertaking collection assessments, including photocopying and preparing forms.
  • Contact and schedule appointments with research group members, volunteers, honours students, and visiting researchers.
  • Run participants through standards of operation and record inventory data according to set laboratory protocols.
  • Adhere to guidelines concerning the integrity and respectful treatment of results and participants.
  • Perform inventory and care duties for the zooarchaeology collection.
  • Assist with coordinating session meetings, maintaining supplies, performing anatomical assessments, recording data, and caring for stored data.
Desired Qualifications
  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, preferably Anthropology.
  • Experience in a coordinator position within social sciences research.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and presentation software.
  • Ability to learn quickly and with minimal instruction.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a research environment involving many projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy while managing multiple details simultaneously.
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and flexible while working quickly to meet sudden deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Computer and data analysis skills, including word processing, Excel, Reference Manager or RefWorks, and RStudio.
  • Effective interpersonal and organizational skills.
