Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) in good standing with the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA).
  • Experience in athletic training, preferably within professional or collegiate sports.
  • Strong knowledge of sports medicine, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance optimization strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Provide daily medical care, injury evaluation, treatment, and coverage for all players on the Greenville team, ensuring the highest standards of medical care.
  • Coordinate with team physicians, Strength & Conditioning staff, and other medical personnel to create and execute individualized player care plans.
  • Partner with the affiliate S&C staff to create, implement, and monitor performance plans, ensuring player health and performance goals are aligned.
  • Provide oversight and mentorship to the Seasonal Affiliate ATC, helping to ensure consistency in medical care and fostering professional development.
  • Aid in player development by establishing and maintaining the Boston Red Sox organizational medical services, focusing on routine maintenance and injury prevention strategies.
  • Build consistent medical routines and educate players on injury prevention and recovery protocols.
  • Communicate regularly with the Athletic Training Coordinator, Directors of Player Development, and Rehab Coordinator regarding player injury status, findings, treatment plans, and recovery timelines.
  • Collaborate on the development and adjustment of rehabilitation plans as necessary.
  • Organize and coordinate in-season travel arrangements, including player movements, hotel accommodations, and bus schedules, ensuring smooth logistical operations.
  • Maintain daily communication with affiliate coaching staff to provide updates on player health status and availability.
  • Produce daily injury reports and conduct monthly monitoring screens to track player health and provide current medical information to relevant departments.
  • Assist the sports science team with data collection and player wellness initiatives, contributing to the organization’s overall performance optimization strategy.
  • Provide off-season medical coverage as needed, including potential assignments in Fort Myers or at various domestic and international events.
