This position will maximize the long-term value of new and existing biological Active Ingredients (AIs) through excellence in Product/Portfolio Life Cycle Management. The GPAMleads the overall strategyof thebiologicals, specifically biocontrol,portfolio and is responsible for the long-term, healthy management of its business.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the 5-year strategic plan to optimize return on all intellectual, physical, and financial assets in their portfolio.
- Develop medium and long-term strategies in collaboration with Regions, Countries and Functions that deliver on the 5-year strategic plan. The GPAM will ensure sustainable competitiveness, and meet grower needs, all while optimizing investment decisions and creating synergies across crops and territories. Communicate strategies continuously to all key stakeholders.
- Lead Global Portfolio Asset Teams (GPAT). Lead these cross-functional teams to deliver the AI strategies by setting and driving strategic projects to achieve the 5-year strategic plan. This includes initiatives such as new molecule development, regulatory mitigation plans, stewardship actions, product cost reduction projects, portfolio gap analyses, and other activities.
- Set strategic direction for both organic and inorganic portfolio growth, aligned with the 5-year strategic plan, through expanding existing market presence and defining new opportunities.
- Lead launch plans for new AIs in key initial introductory countries collaborating closely with regional marketing teams.
- Lead annual post patent strategy development to maximize value of the AIs in the portfolio throughout the lifecycle and drive implementation of such strategy with countries, regions and global functions.
- Challenge business cases for R&D/Production/3rd Party Licensing investments/commitments and gain approval through relevant governing bodies
- Ensure up to date value pricing evaluations are in place for all Strategic formulations in key countries.
- Prepare top-down AI forecasts annually.
- Analyze and challenge territory sales performance, margin, and forecasts monthly through the regional, global S&OP and on a yearly basis through the business planning process.
- Prepare AI allocation plans as necessary and gain approval at global S&OP meeting.
- The GPAT, through the 5-year strategic plan, will establish the budgeting needs for all functional areas. If needs are unable to be met, they will need to revise the plan.
Required Qualifications:
- Background in Sales or Customer Marketing or R&D Management.
- Industry experience in crop protection is required.
- Solid understanding of market dynamics relative to crop protection.
- Experience with leveraging new technology, such as digital tools, in managing complex projects, as well as insights of alternative technologies opportunities.
- Anticipating societal/ economic challenges of the crop inputs market, open mindset to lead through the change.
- Proven Leadership: influencing people across functional boundaries and externally and comfortable in communicating with impact with wide range of stakeholders throughout the organization.

- MBA
- Experience in strategic negotiations
- Bilingual in Spanish, Italian, or Portuguese
