Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required, although relevant experience may offset this requirement.
  • A valid driver's license and successful completion of the company's Motor Vehicle Review are required.
  • The employee must obtain and maintain the required state commercial applicator certification.
  • The employee must obtain and maintain an agricultural commercial driver's license.
  • The employee must be able to communicate effectively with team members and customers and represent the company professionally and courteously.
  • The employee must be able to read, count, write, and use technology to complete documentation accurately, including shipping and applicator orders, tickets, product labels, safety data sheets, warning signs, and emergency procedures.
  • Familiarity with crop chemicals, nutrients, farming practices, and crop characteristics is required.
  • The employee must be able to use technology to locate application sites accurately and read field maps.
  • The employee must regularly lift more than 50 pounds, climb ladders, and perform preventive maintenance and other physical duties.
  • The employee must be able to walk, stand, lift, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, handle, feel, and grasp regularly.
Responsibilities
  • Apply dry fertilizer products and lime to customers' crops safely, efficiently, and accurately.
  • Use supplied information and application-equipment technology to apply the correct products at the correct rates to the correct fields and customers.
  • Assist with mixing, loading, unloading, and transporting crop-protection and fertilizer products.
  • Follow all applicable laws, regulations, safety rules, personal protective equipment requirements, Environmental Health and Safety policies, Occupational Safety and Health Administration policies, and Department of Transportation policies and procedures.
  • Inspect equipment daily before field applications and after applications.
  • Maintain safety equipment in the applicator equipment and immediate work area in optimum condition.
  • Maintain applicator and equipment logs and keep them up to date.
  • Perform required equipment calibration and recommended preventive maintenance.
  • Rinse and wash down equipment in the field and at the location in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist team members with physical duties required to operate an agricultural location.
  • Assist with operational scouting, product transportation, and other customer services.
  • Work required overtime as seasonal demands require.

  • Basic mechanical skills for daily equipment maintenance are preferred.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing application technologies and seasonal variations in workload responsibilities is preferred.
  • A team-oriented approach and willingness to contribute to a successful operation are preferred.
