Job Description

As a Test Engineer, you will report to the Manager, North America Process Operations. You will develop and support automated testing solutions for PCBAs, final assemblies, and large systems. You will design, implement, and maintain electrical, electronic, and mechanical test equipment, ensuring efficient manufacturing across global facilities. You will collaborate with design teams and manufacturing sites, supporting final assembly and board functional testing onsite at our Twinsburg, OH plant.

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide manufacturing technical support assisting in troubleshooting test systems to resolve crisis downtime situations in Rockwell Automation plants. Provide guidance for product repair processes and other troubleshooting tools and guides for tester/product repair.
• Implement continuous improvement, error proofing, ergonomics, yield, and other lean manufacturing initiatives for test equipment and processes. Demonstrate use of appropriate Lean Six Sigma tools for test equipment qualification, test system problem solving, and identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities.
• Help develop standardized work practices, documentation maintenance, and operator training for all test related processes. Provide guidance with preventative maintenance and calibration schedules and/or requirements for test instrumentation.
• Understand documentation on all aspects of the test solution: Test specification, System wiring schematics in AutoCAD Electrical, System BOM (Bill of Materials), user guides, test software and software controls as examples.
• Participate in projects to enable the plants to meet annual productivity goals and reduce/eliminate safety and ergonomic risk in the manufacturing work environment.
• Participate in the procurement, installation and validation activities with test equipment targeted for the manufacturing production.
• Debug, modify, and troubleshoot software using multiple programming languages (including C, C++, C#, NI Test Stand, Visual Basic, PLC, etc.).

The Essentials - You Will Have:

• Bachelor's degree
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

• 2+ years experience as a Test Engineer contributor in a team-oriented project environment, including design and development of test equipment for production
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Electrical Engineering Technology(EET), or Electrical Engineering/Computer Science (EE/CS)
• Ability to troubleshoot software using multiple programming languages (including C, C++, C#, NI Test Stand, Visual Basic, PLC, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret new product designs consisting of electronic circuit schematics, electrical and mechanical equipment design drawings, bills of materials, design and functional specifications.
• Knowledge of electronic hardware.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analysis, and problem solving skills.
• Proficient using Microsoft Office programs.
