- High school graduation and some college courses.
- Graduation from an accredited Ultrasound Program.
- Registration by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers with ARDMS breast registration.
- Recent graduate or up to two years of experience.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association; only American Heart Association certification is accepted.
- Perform appropriate patient evaluation and high-quality imaging.
- Use the Picture Archiving and Communication System.
- Set up and adjust ultrasound equipment.
- Perform ultrasound image-guided procedures.
- Perform high-level disinfection.
- Use different vendor machines.
- Use the Epic electronic medical record system.
- Provide on-call shift coverage.
- Nuchal certification.
- Experience in breast, obstetrics and gynecology, or maternal-fetal medicine.
