Ardent is seeking an Infrastructure Architect to join our team.
This is an Onsite position located in Tysons, VA. Remote work is subject to the discretion/needs of the customer.
Ardent is seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Architect to lead the design, planning, and oversight of cloud-based systems for our government customer’s program. This role will be responsible for assessing the current cloud infrastructure, identifying performance improvements, and making strategic recommendations. The Infrastructure Architect will collaborate with engineers, developers, ICE OCIO IT operations, and other teams to develop action plans for implementing system upgrades and integrations, ensuring continued support for fluctuating system demands.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assess and improve SEVIS cloud infrastructure performance. Develop strategies for upgrades and integrations to SEVIS applications.
- Collaborate with IT operations and development teams to implement best practices.
- Provide leadership in system design and implementation using AWS cloud solutions.
- Oversee system performance assessments and provide recommendations. Implement technical architecture standards based on industry best practices.
- Create and maintain roadmaps for strategic planning and complex problem-solving.
- Review, present, and obtain approval for design documents. Drive innovation to improve application performance and modernize technology.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with eight (8) or more years of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT environment OR ten (10) or more years of relevant experience without a Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience with technical architecture design and cloud infrastructure.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing AWS cloud solutions.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, developers, and IT teams.
- Ability to engage stakeholders, translate needs into solutions, and lead teams in best practices.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with DevOpsSec pipeline tools (e.g., JIRA, CI/CD, automated testing, blue-green deployments).
- Experience migrating applications to FedRAMP-approved GovCloud.
- Experience with TOGAF in Agile solution designs.
- Strong background in system performance assessments and technical architecture standards.
- Experience driving application modernization and improving system performance.
- Leadership experience in strategic planning and solving complex technical problems.
- Expertise in leading technical evaluations, documenting performance criteria, and presenting design solutions to clients.
- Knowledge of cloud, infrastructure, and automation technologies to support new capabilities.
