Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English proficiently.
  • Math skills necessary to count inventory and convert each, box, and case quantities.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and handle materials for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and push loaded carts weighing in excess of 600 pounds.
  • Visual and oral acuity.
  • Ability to work in a high-stress environment.
  • Ability to maintain excellent personal hygiene.
  • Availability for rotating holidays and weekends and the 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. evening shift.
Responsibilities
  • Respond to requests for supplies and equipment in accordance with departmental policy and procedure.
  • Serve as the initial contact for departmental customer inquiries.
  • Use Workday on desktop or Zebra handheld computers to pick, deliver, issue, receive, inventory, and stock supplies and equipment.
  • Process customer returns to House Inventory, restock items in the correct bins, and identify and dispose of outdated, contaminated, damaged, or obsolete material.
  • Provide customer service by phone and in person.
  • Report urgent or emergency stock shortages to the Inventory Control Analyst or direct supervisor.
  • Inspect Code Carts and their accessories to ensure they are functional and maintain accurate cart inventory according to code drawer inventory lists.
  • Maintain accurate inventory in Code Stretcher Luggage/Bags and EZIO Kits according to applicable inventory lists.
  • Coordinate with SPD and Nursing personnel to locate and obtain centralized equipment or supplies when house inventory is depleted.
  • Print and affix patient charge labels to issued charge items where applicable.
  • Receive and distribute full-service forms throughout the hospital.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience or ability to train new Materials Handling Attendants on handheld computer use.
  • Ability to assist with the orientation and training of new employees.
  • Ability to serve as a resource for inventory and stocking problems.
