  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum two years of operational administrative experience required.
  • Experience with collections, insurance, lending products, bankruptcy, or garnishments preferred.
  • Detail-oriented, with a high degree of accuracy and the ability to make recommendations based on information obtained.
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretionary judgment.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member, while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving.
  • Proficient verbal and written skills to effectively communicate and provide customer service.
  • Experience at a Financial Institution preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Leverage Operational Expertise: You’ll use your operational experience to optimize processes and systems, enhancing productivity, reducing errors, and fostering a positive customer experience.
  • Navigate Compliance and Standards: You’ll carry out your responsibilities with a focus on BECU’s core competencies, compliance, and information protection to ensure we meet all regulatory requirements.
  • Manage Charge-Off Processes: You’ll handle all necessary system updates and documentation to transition accounts from active status to charge-off, safeguarding our members and the credit union from losses.
  • Oversee Account Closures: You’ll manage the system updates and documentation required for involuntary closures of revolving and deposit accounts, ensuring a smooth process for all involved.
  • Facilitate Loan Modifications: You’ll take charge of processing loan modifications in coordination with the Bankruptcy, Loss Management, and Member Assistance Departments, helping our members navigate their financial situations.
  • Coordinate Debt Management Requests: You’ll process and follow up on requests from outside debt management programs, acting as a liaison between our members and their financial support systems.
  • Balance Financial Records: You’ll balance and report applicable general ledgers to Accounting, contributing to the overall financial health of BECU.
  • Maintain Confidentiality: You’ll handle all member and employee matters with the utmost confidentiality, ensuring trust in our interactions.
  • Provide Exceptional Support: You’ll respond promptly to internal and external inquiries, maintaining a professional demeanor that reflects BECU’s commitment to service.
  • Resolve Transaction Exceptions: You’ll research and resolve any exception transactions and out-of-balance conditions, showcasing your problem-solving skills.
  • Manage Incoming Communications: You’ll process incoming mail daily and monitor the department's email inbox, ensuring all communications are handled efficiently.
  • Adapt to New Challenges: You’ll be ready to take on additional duties as assigned, showcasing your flexibility and readiness to contribute.
