Requirements
- The candidate must have a qualifying military medical or licensed clinical background, current required medical certifications, and experience delivering emergency medical, tactical trauma, or combat casualty care training.
- The candidate must meet one of the following backgrounds: former 68W or 18D Noncommissioned Officer and Advanced Leader Course graduate; former Navy Enlisted Classification 8404 or Navy Independent Duty Corpsman at E-6 or above; former Air Force 4NOX1 or Aerospace Medical Service member at E-6 or above; or currently licensed Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant, or Physician.
- The candidate must hold National Registry Emergency Medical Technician certification at the EMT level or higher and Basic Life Support certification.
- The candidate must maintain all certifications throughout the contract, complete annual TC 8-800 recertification, and complete the required security, cybersecurity, antiterrorism, operations security, SHARP, CUI, and HAZMAT compliance training.
- The candidate must be able to review documents, maintain electronic files, manage spreadsheets, tracking logs, suspense actions, and similar records.
- The candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and standard office equipment.
- The candidate must be able to manage multiple records and deadlines and communicate professionally with military, civilian, medical, recruiting, and contractor personnel.
- The candidate must be able to learn Government information systems and Army applicant-processing procedures.
- The candidate must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- The candidate must be able to stand, walk, and move throughout training environments for extended periods, lift and carry medical training equipment up to 50 pounds, kneel and crouch during field exercises, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and apply moulage while operating patient simulators.
- The candidate must be eligible for and obtain a Common Access Card requiring a minimum Tier 1 investigation.
- The candidate must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and remain subject to random drug screens.
Responsibilities
- Deliver Tactical Combat Casualty Care training across all four tiers: All Service Members, Combat Lifesaver, Combat Medic, and Combat Paramedic.
- Instruct 68W Combat Medic sustainment training and Combat Lifesaver initial and sustainment training for non-medical personnel.
- Conduct training in classroom, laboratory, and field training and evaluation environments.
- Maintain required instructor-to-student ratios and assess students' critical thinking and psychomotor skills under high-fidelity simulated conditions.
- Support the projected throughput of at least 2,500 68W students annually across all Medical Simulation Training Center sites.
- Utilize approved scenario-based training and ensure training content is approved by the appropriate medical proponent.
- Apply moulage techniques, environmental controls, and theatrical special effects to simulate realistic injuries and environments.
- Operate Medical Simulation Training Center systems, including ISS, VPS, and MT-C2, and configure and execute realistic training scenarios.
- Assess students using grading sheets for individual scenarios.
- Contribute required data to the Monthly Staffing Report.
- Document and report accidents and incidents and maintain training records, student evaluations, and After-Action Review documentation.
- Operate patient simulators, manikins, and medical training equipment and perform operator-level preventive maintenance.
- Follow original equipment manufacturer instructions for equipment requiring extended service agreement repair.
- Inventory and manage consumables, notify the Contracting Officer's Representative when supplies are required, and initiate equipment repair and condition-status reports.
- Notify the W-TRS maintainer of equipment failures outside extended service agreement coverage.
- Participate in Quality Control Plan activities, including peer observations, self-assessments, and After-Action Reviews.
- Participate in instructor development programs and cross-site standardization initiatives.
- Resolve administrative and minor performance issues and ensure timely completion of reports, rosters, and deliverables.
- Oversee adherence to training standards, security protocols, and classroom requirements.
- Travel locally and occasionally out of the area or overnight for cross-site support, surge operations, training conferences, or the MSTC Exchange Program.
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced Life Support certification.
- Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification.
- Tactical Combat Casualty Care provider or instructor certification.
- Experience with medical simulation Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations, including SimMan 3G, MTC2, or Cut Suit.
- Prior Medical Simulation Training Center or medical simulation training center experience.
- Experience with moulage techniques and theatrical special effects for high-fidelity scenarios.
- Familiarity with TC 8-800 tables and the Deployed Medicine curriculum.
- Experience supervising training or instructional staff.
- Proficiency in conflict resolution and team management.
- Experience overseeing adherence to training standards, security protocols, and classroom requirements.
